Meeting Highlights for Monday, January 19, 2026
CHANNAHON, Ill. - The Village Board of Trustees and Committee of the Whole met on Monday, January 19, 2026. Highlights of the meeting are recapped in brief below. Please note: this media release does not reflect official minutes of the meeting.
VOTES
The Board voted on the following items during the formal meeting:
- Approved: Approval of Landscape Maintenance Agreement Between the Village of Channahon and Edgebrook Outdoors for Landscape Mowing Services
- The Board approved the renewal of the landscape maintenance agreement with Edgebrook Outdoors for the upcoming mowing season in the amount of $35,458.25, pursuant to the previously executed contract. The agreement continues mowing services at various Village properties, with funding already included in the FY 2025/2026 budget and proposed in the FY 2026/2027 budget.
- Approved: Approval of Landscape Maintenance Agreement Between the Village of Channahon and DMK of Channahon, Inc. for Landscape Maintenance Services
- The Village Board approved the renewal of the landscape maintenance agreement with DMK of Channahon, Inc. for the upcoming season in the amount of $15,202, pursuant to the previously executed contract. The agreement continues landscape maintenance services at Village properties and locations, with funding included in the FY 2025/2026 budget and proposed in the FY 2026/2027 budget.
- Approved: An Ordinance Amending the Village of Channahon Zoning Ordinance with Respect to Commercial Vehicles and Semi-Truck Trailer Parking Limitations
- The Board of Trustees approved an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance regulating commercial vehicle and semi-truck trailer parking following the expiration of the temporary moratorium established by Ordinance No. 2191. The amendment establishes clear definitions and standards for trucking-related uses to better guide development and regulation within the Village, consistent with the Planning and Zoning Commission's unanimous recommendation.
- Approved: Entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village of Minooka for Mutual Work Across Municipal Boundary Lines
- The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Minooka related to the Village of Channahon's request for a third Lake Michigan water delivery point from the Grand Prairie Water Commission. The agreement reflects mutual cooperation on adjacent infrastructure projects and supports the necessary approvals from the GPWC Technical Advisory Committee and Board of Commissioners.
- Approved: Villas of Keating Pointe Phase 5 - Improvement Completion Guarantee Reduction
- The Board of Trustees approved a reduction to the Improvement Completion Guarantee for Villas of Keating Pointe Phase 5 from $1,301,420 to $427,053 after determining that 95% of the work for Steps 1 and 2 had been completed in accordance with Subdivision and Development Regulations.
- Approved: Whispering Oaks Unit 4 - Improvement Completion Guarantee Reduction
- The Board approved a reduction to the Improvement Completion Guarantee for Whispering Oaks Unit 4 from $1,134,957.33 to $343,996.00 after determining that 95% of the work for Steps 1 and 2 had been completed in accordance with Subdivision and Development Regulations.
- Approved: Release of Maintenance Guarantee for Venture One Crossroads 55 Trailer Lot
- The Board of Trustees approved the release of the $1,405,710.60 maintenance guarantee for Venture One's Crossroads 55 Trailer Lot, following final inspection by Village staff which confirmed the two-year maintenance period was completed with no deficiencies.
- Approved: A Resolution to Accept Planning Technical Services Delivered by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning
- The Village Board approved a resolution accepting planning assistance from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to help the Village review and improve accessibility in public right-of-ways under the Americans with Disabilities Act. This assistance was awarded as a priority project and will support regional planning goals while helping Channahon identify needed improvements for sidewalks, crossings, and other public areas. The planning study is expected to take 12-24 months to complete.
